It's been pointed out countless times that rivens are broken in more ways than one. This defeats the point of exalted weapons ignoring the base stats of your equipped weapon, which allows you to run theoretically any weapon with the frame. If you ran a seer with all the standard peacemaker mods and a riven that gave 350% bonus base damage and 200% bonus multishot, it'd be far more powerful than running akstilletos with the best riven available for them. Allowing rivens to affect exalted weapons would incentivize people to use the crappiest guns they can find for their exalted builds, since only the mods matter, not the base stats of the weapon. Even the craptastic wukong 4 does pretty good damage. Exalted blade synergizes with blind to do absurd damage (though nerfed once again), and dex pixia does tons of damage. Most exalted weapons don't have much problems doing huge damage. The negative Stats on rivens provide some interesting potential for weapons, and I would like to see this extended to exalted abilities. And since rivens are supposed to be high-level rewards, why should they penalize you simply by equipping them with certain frames? Especially when you consider that, due to all being high energy-consumption abilities, 200%+ power strength is not normally viable on these frames.Īlso, I would like to be able to hang 14+ gas+electric proc arrows in the air with my ivara via a +status, +multishot, -flight speed bow riven. Any time you use a Riven on you primary with Titania and Ivara, or your Secondary with Mesa, you are sacrificing your Ability damage/utility for your weapon damage/utility. Let me put it this way: Either you build the weapon around the ability, or you add in your Riven. These "exalted weapons" don't need their already good dmg boosted by even more dmg. However, If I use this build for my Dex Pixia, I have almost no status chance since the riven's +status chance is not applied.Įh I don't see why they should because neither of those "exalted weapons" have trouble killing any enemies late game. This mod allows me to have 100% status w/o any 60/60 mods, thus freeing up slots for 90% elementals. I also obtained a riven for said Strun Wraith that provides ~+160% Status Chance and ~+ 150% crit chance. I use the Strun Wraith as my mod base for my Dex Pixia, as Shotguns have better base damage boost mods than rifles, along with better multishot. They only provide percentile bonuses or negatives to stats.Īs a real example, lets take the Dex Pixia. Second, the traditional reason weapon exclusives did not apply to Exalted Weapons was to prevent them from gaining effects that were supposed to be unique to the augmented weapon. (Yes, I am aware that Dex Pixia can reach near-100% status, but crit is king in warframe at this time, and neither Dex Pixia nor the other two can truly compete there.) This reduces the effectiveness of these abilities. If a weapon cannot constantly apply status OR inflict critical hits, it is considered useless because there are other weapons that can (especially with crits). Yes, they can have their base damage increased with Power Strength, but in the current Metagame base damage has no place. They have Crit chance, or Status chance, or both, but never enough to scale to 100% with existing mods.
